After my post last week and Ina Steiner’s echoing of my thoughts yesterday, Garrett Rogers of ZDNet found this product search integration on Google.

Looking at that “product search integration on Google” page there are some very interesting things to see. If you switch to the Grid View you can see that having an appealing image will greatly benefit you here. But if you switch to Map View, type in your zip code (or anyone for that matter) you can see where the listing for that product is at geographically. But what really caught my eye was that there are tons of Friendster and MySpace pages that show up for a search. Does this mean that creating Friendster and MySpace pages specifically for your products is just another way to get you ranked in Google now? Hmmm…. optimizing Friendster and MySpace pages for product keywords and linking from them to your e-commerce store. Great, another landing page to create and optimize!
